I don't know what is worse, having some power you have little control over,
or no power at all other than willpower, because eventually, that fails. No one is made of stone. Hang in there, there are a ton of reasons to.
I know about the medical stuff, too. I have no contact with my sperm donor, and what I know of my mom's family (medical) history scares the hell outta me. I just try to be a good mom and to keep from sparking the tendency toward mental illness in my kids by giving them as much normalcy and routine as I can muster.
