Good luck with your website.

I've listed a link that you might find helpful, as well.  It really is fun.

It's a whole lot easier than you might think...

Just call your main page "index.html", and it will show up instead of the directory list, "parent directory", etc.   I'm self taught at Webmastering, starting a site in memory of my mother back in 1996 a few months after she died... http://www.zarcrom.com/users/yeartorem/   I've never had any training to speak of, and only read a couple of very basic books on HTML since (had aready taught myself everything in the books by the time I read them).  I'm still not great at it all, but by 1999 I had taught myself enough that I was hired in a librarian's position where being library webmaster is a big part of my job.  (A gift from my mother, I say... Thank you, Mama!)    I don't use editors.  I find them confusing.  I just open up Windows Notepad and type HTML from scratch.  It's a whole lot easier than you think.  I began learning it back in 1996 just by viewing the source code of other Web sites.  Just click on view and then source in your browser and you will see.  Pick a page that you like and then study its code and try something like it on your own site.  Good luck and have fun!

If you're willing to pay for FrontPage...
You can also get a copy at Circuit City or maybe (MAYBE) Best Buy. Or, if you have one near you, CompUSA. Make sure your server - where you upload your page to - will work well with FrontPage, as not all domain hosts do.

Microsoft Front Page

Not too long ago, you could go to Microsoft and download a beta version of the latest FrontPage at no charge.

I operate a website and find using FrontPage a lifesaver.

There is also a barebones version of FrontPage shareware version you can download.

If you can't get things working, you might try it.

Sounds a lot like my experiences with webmastery, getting annoyed with the pop-ups so paying for a proper domain name and hosting... who's hosting the site? I'd be happy to try and help if I can.
