Pecanflower, thanks for visiting my last three posts!!! Thanks for
taking the time to comment on them and special thanks for saying nice things. You will surely go to Heaven, or at least, make it as far a Limbo !!! Then, if I make it to Heaven, I'll pray you up there, too. Ancient Catholic beliefs and all that. I'm not Catholic, but the artwork that I do in clay makes me feel that way, makes me learn all about it all and then I superstitiously add the customs and habits to my repertoire.....of altars and candle burnings and personal voodoo. Gracias.

maj, nope, didn't happen. computer crashes along with the lightning, but no
rain comes and not enough money to replace the crasher any time soon, though I am SOOOOOOOOOO much better and faster at getting it up and running again. Have been in hiding, trying to earn more money with the clay and feeling more like a real American capitalist. Blowing up one kiln load of clay did me little  good this month, postponing the use of the definition 'capitalist' to describe myself.

decshak, yes, good will. Our family gathered and decided to help the shop
in any way that we could. I said that I could decorate it and write about it.....my contribution to my son's future.

I am in awe.
I love paintings.  I love your paintings.  Brava! You are a talented, wonderful individual.

These are very cool - both in concept and execution.   It's great that you can share your talents that way with your son.

I am hoping you will get a newer computer soon.
And that the monsoon gets better for you and yours.

Putting paintings on a wall is advertising for your paintings, too.
So, for that reason alone--and there are very many others, all is not lost when you donate your time and energies, etc. for a friend....  Love's Labour's not always Lost.  It's actually called "Good Will" on balance sheets, I think.

What do you mean?
The comment you left?  How did I do that?  If you mean Billy, it's not what you think.

LadyKenobi, you have cowboys in your Cincinnati apartment? No kidding?
Lucky girls have cowboys in their homes. Happy to deocrate your many homes for you, as soon as I win the lottery, too. Sounds like I've found my patroness in you.  Gracias.

tapsel, try the oils with lessons and you might just 'get it' and go on.
Or, go back to the watercolors, as you seem to have liked your Monument Valley painting. Sounds like you could go on to greater things with them. You appear to like to 'control' things, so maybe straight forward acrylics might work for you. But, watercolors are great. Try, try again.

Yay, you!
Not only are you doing my next book cover, you're doing my winter home in FL.  If you do cowboy stuff, we'll talk about the summer home in Colorado and maybe even the apartment in Cincinnati.

You are right
I have felt that way myself.  I even did a watercolor from a photo that I took in Monument Valley, AZ that I was proud of and hung on my wall until it faded.  I also tried oil painting (without any lessons) and was horribly disgusted and discouraged and threw them away.  LOL

Tapsel_T, I am just trying to make the shop more interesting. Most have

t.v.s and magazines. I offer paintings as a more uplifting exercise. Maybe one of the kids there will see them and want to paint, too. My hope.

When you see simple paintings done simply, your mind says, almost involuntarily, "I could paint at least that well, if not better than that." Some people then move on to actually trying to paint. It's why I take my grandchildren to galleries.

This way, I try to bring the gallery to them.....inside the shop.

Thanks for stopping and commenting.

Abuelita
I'm speechless.  I mean it!  I honestly do not know what to say.  You are such a gifted artist (in all areas the term "art" covers).  I am blessed to have crossed your path.

Temple, email me a photo !! The consequences are enormous as I am not
accumulating rent $$ right now. Sigh, c'est la vie of depressive personalities. I appreciate your encouraging words.

Don't be hard on yourself for seeking solace in the work you want to do.
It's good for us to indulge sometimes, even if there are consequences.  You are so talented!   These are really beautiful.  I want you to paint me!  I would love to see myself through your eyes.  Be gentle with yourself right now, and just let yourself do as much of what you want to that you can.

I am continually amazed by your talent. These are wonderful. Can't wait to see more. And yes, I got word from the state yesterday that I have qualified with them as to being medically disabled. Now the next step is to get through the federal level.

Those are wonderful!  They will definitely liven up the place.  And you are very, very talented with a paint brush, my dear.  I'm glad you shared them with us.
