What Europe REALLY thinks about the Gipper...

I personally heard Mikhail Gorbachev say that Ronald Reagan was one of the greatest statesmen of the 20th century. I listened to German politicians praise him personally, NOT generally. I read several Moscow papers that heaped praise on him. I listened to French praise, and praise and adulation from around Europe - and even the rest of the world.

So far as I can tell, Ronald Reagan left this world with greater international admiration and respect than any other statesman in my personal memory, and I have been around the block a few times myself.

There are some exceptions, but when I consider the source, I am not surprised. People lacking the ability to do simple arithmetic cannot typically interpret other incoming information either. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand Ronald Reagan's contributions to history in both the short and long term.

So This is....
...what it takes to haul your sorry ass out of retirement ;-)

Predicatably, I disagree with almost every word; the rest of the world, certainly Europe, saw Reagan as a dim-witted has-been. And that was before he got ill. As for all those "achievements" - right place at the right time, methinks, rather than actively achieving anything.

And I can't believe you're still milking that "can see clearly now" post! You are SOOOO proud of that one, aren't you?

Anyway, good luck with the novel and screenplay. I always like to read those accounts that attempt to suggest that Us spying on Them is somehow good and righteous, while Them spying on Us is evil and wrong ;-)

And with such a big heart as his, this statement is not difficult

to believe:

"Ronald Reagan - the Great Communicator - liberated more people than anyone in history, inspired more people than any American President, garnered more hatred from the Left than any historical leader..."
