When I first found out, I was so proud of their proactive attitude, and their decision to fight the monster, but I was recently moved to California, and felt powerless. My friend was due with her second baby, and she was due, basically, on her father's 'expiration date.' I was broke, so I asked her if it would be appropriate to donate my hair, really long at the time, to Locks of Love. They said yes, and I shaved my head!! It was my way of letting her know how strongly I stood behind her. He lived 7 months past his prognosis, and I think it literally just reared up and overtook him. He wasn't frail of weak for an extended period like many with cancer are. A month ago, I wouldn't have expected this.
