and muses?
check out my novel in progress "This is an unexpected Bump for sure" -- I feel that was muse directed. The novel drove me, I didn't manipulate the novel -- the things came to me as I wrote.

It sounds as if . . .

you are describing the universe as a place populated by gremlins and whatever the opposite of gremlins is.  Gremlins always mess things up.  Then again, when we get too complacent, we need to have the pot stirred, so to speak.

Your blog and comments are most interesting.

lower gods?
I guess I have my own pantheon of gods -- Greeks had theirs, romans had theirs, Vikings and Celts had theirs -- The list os Saints and the Virgin Mary to whom other pray must certainly be pantheon also, right? -- Except that the pantheon of saints seems to change from one time to another.
The spiritual world is a hard one to fathom. Yet I feel there is a lot out there and what it is I do not know.
I feel sometimes there is a particular being that seems to trip up my life -- I am going along just fine -- (ok I know logic says you make your own problems) -- and something happens -- a little thing -- but boy am I frustrated because of it -- it's a pattern I've seen --
to elaborate and elucidate is difficult -- to detail this is difficult. And I wonder why I'm doing it here except to tell that I feel this is so -- minor spiritual beings that do things -- problem is we're getting into some wild stuff and I'm looking pretty stupid just mentioning it -- maybe really far out.

One of the lower gods?
I like that, Westwend!  Elaborate more on that for us; it could be an interesting topic.

Prayer is simply honest communication with God, whatever that communication consists of, wherever you happen to be at the time.
