Sorry about the delay in responding; just got back from a business trip.  Anyway, it is cheating because if he is alive, then he did not die for our sins.  He is not dead.

. . . I understand that. But my point was only that if I believe that Christ actually did return from the dead, and if He's alive today (as I believe) then logically I don't see how it can be cheating. I assume (though perhaps I'm assuming too much) that you don't believe that, either (that He did die and rise from the dead to live again.)

I'm not trying to force you to believe anything . . . simply to explain that, for those of us who do believe in the resurrection, it's not cheating, it's the first step in winning a war.

you make it sound like a game . . . it's not . . . it's a war. Christ didn't cheat. He battled against death and won, where no human could.
