Thanks Pecan & Kay-Ren-
I appreciate the comments. I just still feel bad. Pecan, please do post that! I'd love to read it! And Kay-Ren, one question about your story...was it that guy that made the comment or not? Was it someone else? Me confused!

It's okay, sis. See it's happened to us all. Sometimes it's just exhausting being outside of the house shields. I hate malls the most. Here this little story will cheer you up.

I was working as a waitress, oh sorry it’s food server now, in a little restaurant that sat at the top of a hill. It was a busy night and I was hustling to keep up. I was taking an order at one table and heard a lewd comment from the guy at the behind me. Being a bit stressed, I over-reacted. I whirled on the guy and told him to keep his perverted comments to himself.

The look on his face was priceless. He was shocked. The girl he was with, opps hadn’t noticed her, told me that he hadn’t said anything. I repeated the comment I'd heard. The girl was getting pissed that I would accuse her date of such a comment but the guy was turning red. I started to argue but stopped. This wasn’t the first time but it was the most embarrassing. They didn’t leave me a tip either. Guess I didn’t deserve one. LOL

Spitfire, sometimes it just happens

You and I both know that sometimes things are so clear it's as if we had been told by that person what happened.  You aren't a Dumb-ass.  If anything, you may have prepared her for the news.  This is no where near as serious.  But I have a similar story. I'm gonna have to post.

Thanks, MSH & PassionF,

I just feel like an unlearned ass! I know the girl knows what happened now, but still...  I hope I didn't ruin her night by wondering! I guess we all make stupid mistakes, but I thought I was more experienced than that to allow myself to speak "intuitively" before considering the ethics.  It's so hard sometimes to separate common knowledge from intuitive reads. Man, I hate that part the most.

Thanks for the comments and support!

You couldn't have known. Right? We all do that sometimes. Sorry.
