Driving through the desert at night was my favorite, Abuelita.
I would pull over and just look at the stars.  I could always drive at night, loved it.  Isn't it funny the things that bring us joy?

Temple, my best friend's cat was named Damnit and deserving of the

name. He was always covered with fight marks, a huge cat he was,  huge and all the neighborhood litters looked like him, this was thirty years ago. The birds would fly down from the trees and attack his head. He was a nest destroyer, too. Naughty kitty.

When I used to drive the southwest selling my artwork in Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado, sometimes in Old Town over where you are, driving was my Nirvana. I rented cars so as to really enjoy myself and would fill them with anything that I would need, including my bad dog and he would tell me where to stop. I found many out of the way places to walk behind him, laughing and smiling and sitting in the sun.

But, it was the road, rather than the stopping places that called me. I didn't really like freeways, except when the need for speed overtook me. I liked the slow winding byways that creeped into little pueblitos and canyons and meandered alongside rivers or wound their way through mountain canyons full of deer and howling wolves.

Summer
So true, so true.  We never know what we are capable of until we are pushed.

Such a nice read!

I also found that poverty made me more resourceful, more creative, and so appreciative of teeny-tiny pleasures.

Thank you Temple
Glad things are looking up. Beach-house sounds great.

Beachy wants paragraphs, she'll get paragraphs!
Thanks for always reading and commenting, Beachy.  You can do it anytime you want!  No worries.  Don't worry about me sweetie, I've been through worse than a deflating bed.  I have good news on the money front right now anyway....but that's for later ;)  Like I tell Sparky, these time provide great material and funny stories later...when I'm in my little beach house with the man of my dreams, our dog, the cats, a big soft bed with soft white cotton sheets and lots of fish and fruit and veggies and tea in the house?  This will make for great stories on the late moonlit nights when we can't, or don't want to, sleep.  I'm so good.  I got no problems.  :)

Billy darling, that is one of my favorite lines of all time.

The trick is to realize that freedom is always an option.  It's all a matter of perspective.  Happiness, sorrow, freedom, joy...they are all in our mind, so we have the power.  How brilliant is that?

It's funny, before I had to sell my car I didn't realize how much driving was therapy for me too.  Watch out for the horsie! :)

beedle: Trouble is a good name for a kitty!

It means everything that you can think of me and how I cope and that helps.  Our experiences in life provide nothing for us unless we share them with others.  It took me a long time to learn to focus on the positive.  Keep pampering yourself when you can.

I'm really sorry to hear about Nolan.  He's a great player and I'm sure the Leafs will miss him.  San Jose misses him, too!  Yes, we beat the Kings last night.  Great game!  Kings are now eliminated from the playoffs, which is kind of a bummer.  I miss Adam Deadmarsh.  I think we lost first place in the division to Vancouver, so we have to work to get that back.  Too bad we can't go watch hockey together!

Driving alone with the windows down feels ageless
I didn't comment until I had time to read. I didn't want to say later.
The Prophet is a great book. We chose the Kahil Gibran verse on marriage for, you guessed it, our marriage.
Now you have got me worried for you. That bed doesn't sound too good.

p.S.
My tired eyes would be grateful for some paragraphs.

Hockey, eh?

sheesh, before reading this I thought my cat was something special.  Turns out she's quite an underachiever.  I've got to switch cat foods or something.

Hey, check out Sparky in her husband's briefs!  Wait a minute... Temple are you going commando again?

GO AVS!!

My dad used to do situps and their cat, Trouble (Here Comes Trouble!) used to think it was a game too, would come around for nuzzling.

I'm tense about something small or seemingly big or silly or not so serious or maddening...I think about you, your tea, your philosophy, your view from there, and I relax a bit.  All my years of worrying, and not much worked before now.

Did the Avs win?  Leafs did, but Nolan's gone, hit his knee, probably for the rest of the season and playoffs.  That, my dear, majorly sucks.  My sister gave my little boy his first leafs shirt for his first birthday.

:::gasp::: Sparky? Dat you?
Hey little mama, nice to see you.  I think animals know a lot more than we believe.  They can be so crafty, and always surprise me.  I wouldn't trade 'em for....even a night alone with you ;)

Pets are so funny about things like that...
You see it on tv all the time. My grandma once took care of an elderly man, she was live-in and her cat came with. He was pretty old too and mellow. She awoke one night to the cat having knocked everything off her nightstand and meowing insistently. She thought he wanted outside but that wasnt it, so she cursed him and went back to bed. When she got up in the morning and went about her routine fetching the old guy from bed, the cat planted himself in front of his door and wouldn't let her by, hissing and swatting at her feet. Evidently the old man had passed away from (old age) a severe stroke sometime in the middle of the night, and was dead in bed that morning.

Foxy!
Exactly what I'm saying!  Thanks :)  I'm so glad you like that quote.  I just found out about that author and his book called, "The Prophet" that the quote came from.  You would really like it.  It's beautiful.

Thanks anyway...

I haven't had problems with the length of my posts.  Those who want to read me do, and I thank them for it.  I'm not concerned with rank, etc....just trying to be true to who I am.

As far as Sparky?  She's all yours. We're just friends who seem to have the same life sometimes.  Never fear, Passionflower, the wedding can go on as planned. :)

You have to make your life begin, don't wait for it to happen! Best of luck, Sweetie! Loved the quote!

This was a good post but here are some tips:  Keep it short. Bloggers have short attention spans.

Use more paragraphs.  And BTW, stay away from my girlfriend!!!
