Sounds like we're fighting the same fight here...

Your stomach problems began after taking antibiotics?  Shit.  Sounds like my bought I'm going through right now.  I took Augmentin -- 875mg and am fighting the same damned thing.

They say there is some kind of bug that lives in our digestive track that after taking antibiotics you've killed off all the good flora, and now only the bad flora that is always with us is in control.  Eating yogart supposedly helps, but I have a tough time choking that stuff down.  Or you could take the acidophilus, which is the active ingredient in yogart.

Me?  I've been taking huge amounts of Pepto-Bismal and Maalox, which is helping more than the prescirption samples the doctor gave me -- Protonix [which sounds like a company my old company contracted with to install all our networking equipment....]  I don't know what this is.  So if you find out PS, PLEASE let me know!  It's driving me nuts.  I can't eat any of my favorite foods besides rice and crackers, oh and Subway with no cheese on it.  Nuts huh?  I've lost a lot of weight though, which is a good thing, because I've been struggling with this for 2 almost 3 months.

Thanks editormum
I am eating the amount that I used to eat and I eat that a couple hours before working out so something has changed.

Don't know why...
the cardio is getting at you, but yes, the antibiotics could be part of the prob. They don't discriminate between the bad bacteria that make you sick and the good bacteria that keep you well and help you digest your food. So definitely some acidophilus and lactobacillus bould be a good idea. Also ginger tea is good for nausea...I used it a lot when I was pregnant. And maybe you should work out on an empty stomach once to see if maybe your body just can't handle digestion and exercise at the same time. Also, I have noticed that when I try to exercise immediately after drinking water---even just 4 to 6 ounces---I get nauseated and sometimes even have reflux. So there's some more ideas for you. I'd say, if it keeps up for another two or three weeks, that I would probably check in with the physician to make sure nothing funky is going on.
