I once dated a guy, who was on the wrestling team. He told me that he had an opportunity to sell marijuana to his teammates. When I voiced a negative opinion, he said that marijuana was not as bad as tobacco. I said, "Burning anything produces, at the very least, carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide. I don't think your teammates should be encouraged to put that into their lungs."

Well, he never asked me out on a date again, but the point is that we can rationalize anything to suit our purposes.
