The big hunks of shore lying on the bottom were due to a humongous earthquake, and it is felt that this caused a tremendous tsunami across the lake. The fault line is still under the lake.
A limnologist (lake guy) was on the radio today about Tahoe.Poured over the state of Texas, the water would be eight inches deep. (Lake Baikal would make it 98 feet deep!).
