It's Going to Be Another Soup Day in My House Which is Fine by Me

I personally love the Panera sourdough bread bowls that come filled with your choice of broccoli cheese soup, autumn squash, turkey chili, tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, and mac & cheese. My top pick is the broccoli cheese soup, but John is not a fan of mushy bread which inevitably happens once... Sign in to see full entry.

Grandkids, Surgery, and A Busy and Stressful Two Days

Our two grandchildren spent the weekend with us. They are a handful at 13 and 11. Chloe practiced her French horn all weekend while Johnny created art and made paper guns. They both have really creative minds and lots of energy. I took them out to eat at Dairy Queen while their pappy rested at home.... Sign in to see full entry.

So Much Talent

Although I don't like a few of the shows that air on the popular food channel, I am admittedly a fan of the Food Network. Today, I have been watching the kid's baking championship. The kids featured are "Biz Kids," who have trademarked their specialty desserts and started selling their confections... Sign in to see full entry.

John is back to working doubles at the steel mill so that his small crew of co-workers can take their vacations, and I will be busy later winterizing our yard. Dead plants need to be tossed, their rich soil added to my raised... Sign in to see full entry.

Such A Severe Change in the Weather in Just One Day

Last week, John and I left for our mini vacation to visit multiple Maryland and Delaware beaches. Pittsburgh temperatures were still in the upper 70s when we left. Delaware and Maryland both had temperatures that hit the low 80s. Arriving back in Pittsburgh, the temperatures were still holding in... Sign in to see full entry.

Pennsylvania's Most Famous Witch Was A Good Witch Who Helped Others

Not all witches are evil entities. In fact, most practice healing techniques to help those who cannot afford modern medicine. Mary was one of those "good witches' who healed the sick and dying, told the locals their fortunes, and removed hexes and curses while casting her own curses on those who... One of Pittsburgh's Favorite Attractions...Then and Now

Once you get to the top, Mount Washington offers one of the best views of the city of Pittsburgh. Getting to the top of Mount Washington was once a real chore. Opened on May 20, 1877, the Duquesne Incline was rescued and restored by a group of local residents in 1963 and still runs with its... Sign in to see full entry.
