I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the founding towns of the American colonies. I was a silver and goldsmith. I joined many groups and organizations. I took part in town meetings which governed the town and determined how things should be run in the colonies. But Britain had other ideas. They didn’t want us governing ourselves.
