Wall Street Protesters

I saw on the BBC today how the occupiers on Wall Street are now being forced to move. Since September this has been going on - actually, that's been quite a lot of time. There are demonstrations all the time, in so many places. There have been a number of them in london over the past few years. The... Sign in to see full entry.

Twilight - Breaking Dawn

Breaking Dawn is released this friday. I wanted to write a blog entry about the Twilight series in anticipation of the film's release. I'll start by stating that, I have never read any of Stephanie Meyers works. I have never read any of the twilight literature itself - I am only acquainted with the... Sign in to see full entry.

Reading and writing

When I used to read before, in my younger years, for me, it was about getting to the end of the chapter. It was about just getting to the bottom of the page, zooming to the top of the next, trying to get as quickly as I could to being able to turning the page over, repeating the process over again.... Rama II

No no no, it's not the review of Rama II. I've just started reading it. AT LAST!!!!! I bought the book thursday last week, yet it's taken me till tuesday this week to start reading it. I've gotta do better than that. I'm about twenty pages in - reminds me of Rama already. It is brilliant so far, the... Sign in to see full entry.

Mixture of topics

I always now find that I will get through something much better, not by trying to get through it, not by rushing it, but by immersing myself into it, whatever it may be. Whether it be tomorrow going to do some work at the Archive centre in town, doing the laundry once its finished washing downstairs... Sign in to see full entry.

Writing

As I mentioned in my last entry, I'm already working on one story. But today, I've decided to start another as well. I did attempt it earlier this year - about a quarter of a page was written. I was too thoughtful, too picky back then - I like to think I've matured as a writer, that my apporach to... Sign in to see full entry.

Rama II

Well, I bought Rama II today - for £1.50!!!! I found it in the centre of my town's shopping centre - or one of it's centres. There were three aisles, all of them used books. I had asked about Rama II I think last week, in waterstone's - they could only order it - for £8.99. I'm going to try starting... Sign in to see full entry.

Rendevous With Rama

I read Rendevous with Rama last week, before The Help. I want to share some of my thoughts about the classic. When I purchased the novel, from my HMV store in town, I was eager to immediately begin reading it. While there have been by now many books I have read through, there have been just as many... Frozen Planet

The BBC series Frozen Planet has started airing. Anyone who has not seen BBC's Life series, which aired about two yeasr ago, try to get a hold of it. It was phenomenal. For one thing, and there are many great things I can say about it, it invoked in me a deep interest into the true beauties and... Sign in to see full entry.

Thoughts on 'The Help' - the novel and film!

Hello! I'm Thomas. This is my first blog. Note of warning: Anyone who intends to see 'The Help', or read it, this blog does give away some plot details. I've just been to see 'The Help', released here in the UK only yesterday. In anticipation of seeing it, I decided to read the novel itself. I... Sign in to see full entry.
