Are there any stamps around forms of Government? i.e. Parliamentary
democracy, dictatorship, theocracy? Are there any stamps about coups? Or do nations want to erase thse histories... So it doesn't become a choice for the theme of postage stamps? Or coins for that matter? Just wondering...

Somtimes people view what you do as a collection.
A friend, for instance, loves taking photographs of any new place that he goes to or any different but interesting picture that he can get. He doesn't have to hesitate because he has a digital camera. As adults, we'd say, photography is his passion. But his daughter calls him a "photo-collector"!

She sells sea shells...
There is such beauty in some of the collections that I come across. But strangely, the collection doesn't seem to have much appreciation in the land in which the material for the collection is available. Is it because it is all too familiar? For instance a collection of shell-work doesn't seem to...

Collecting travel advisories issued by the Brits. revealing!
A friend of mine is collecting travel advisories issued by the Brits. She says it's very revealing about the politics of tourism and in fact about world politics if one analyses the advisories.

For example if someone were collecting vintage cars, or household items used in yonder years, or paintings, or artefacts of an age. This means someone who doesn't have the space or the money that this demands cannot...

Sometimes people into collections can get pretty obnoxious in the way they
consider somebody else's collection. The other day, a friend of mine, whose father had left her a legacy of a stamp album with old time stamps of different countries, went to a well-known philatelist here to understand the stamp collection. But he was so dismissive of the collection. and even said...

Sometimes I wonder whether there isn't a class bias in collection-making?
If one wants to collect stamps or coins on a particular theme, then one has to invest in the same or have the goodwill of that many that can spare something to augment or add to one's collection. What do you think? So it means that not anyone and everyone can afford collections except if they are of...

What are collections for? Admiration? Hobby? Pastime? to get an underst...
understanding of the place and the times in which these collectibles came about or evolved? The raison for collections - multiple reasons! But this one takes the cake - to gift it to the one you love who will appreciate and honour that collection.
