Safe in Mother's Arms

Safe in Mother's Arms when I was a child, I fell off the swing set, knocking all the wind from my lungs. I could not breathe. I ran all the way from the back yard Into my Mother’s arms, Still unable to breathe. She spoke calmly, Assuring me, Calming me, Until I could breathe again. We are living through a time That is knocking the wind out of us. We can barely breathe. Our panic is palpable. Where is our Mother, now? She is here, Caring for us as She has for millions of years.
