Grad school has officially commenced!

Today I registered for my very first class for my master's degree. I have two more classes I'm going to take, putting me at nine credits for my first semester as a graduate student, and I am absolutely elated. Of course, taking so many credits AND working almost 40 hours a week is going to keep me... Sign in to see full entry.

Calgon, take me away!

I’ve been doing some thinking about what I want to do with myself once graduate school begins in June. Here’s what I’ve decided: 1. I’m going to keep working in the lawyer’s office as a legal secretary. I don’t want to stay, but at the same time, I can’t leave. One of my bosses has cancer, and I... Sign in to see full entry.

Interview bombed.

I think I'm going to hide my head in a hole, because that interview SUCKED. Seriously, what the hell was I thinking? What am I going to do now? I need solutions but I don't know where to find them. This stupid rollercoaster doesn't end. Granted, I am in a better place now than I was a year ago, but... Sign in to see full entry.

Ready to be more than an insignificant speck.

So here's the deal for my life: 1. I will be finishing up paralegal school in the next couple of weeks, at which point I can look for a better-paying job, or stay where I am and seek up move up to something that doesn't involve answering phones and endless interruptions. This, of course, hinges on... Sign in to see full entry.

Graduate school, here I come!

The verdict is in: I am officially a graduate student. I will be attaining a master's of education degree in teacher leadership. Classes begin this June. I am so excited. I've waited a long time for this, and it feels so good to be in the position of graduate student. I am getting my life together;... Sign in to see full entry.

Schoolbound, I am.

I applied to the Teaching Leadership master's program at UCF today. I will find out in a few days whether or not I get accepted, and I am riddled with excitement. I'll keep y'all posted. Please pray for me - I definitely need 'em. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen! Sign in to see full entry.

Fishing is the sport of drowning worms.

Quicky-loo update, friends: I got a raise - in both hours and pay - at work last week, and I've been really happy ever since. Things are definitely turning around work-wise. Still working towards getting back in school for my master's in education. I started working a few weeks ago on my certificate... Sign in to see full entry.

With heartbreak comes victory.

I'm tweaking the school plans slightly: Instead of applying for the fall semester of the UCF graduate program [specifically master's in education], I am applying for the summer semester, though my Haiti missions trip may interfere with it just a little. I'm not concerned, though. Just excited. Very... Sign in to see full entry.

I have found my passion.

Find what you love to do. Find your passion. Know what makes you want to get up in the morning; that's all you need. *Condoleeza Rice* My passions: God and His beautiful words [first and foremost], writing, teaching, dancing, music, and providing a voice for those who cannot speak. I will strive... Sign in to see full entry.

Another change? Ya darn tootin'!

I'm considering doing substitute teaching to save more money and get my financial affairs in order. It will also keep me in my career field. My current job is not working out, and I feel like I'm wasting my time in a field of work that will never be meant for me. My calling is clearly in education.... Sign in to see full entry.
