My mind is constantly thinking and writing helps document my feelings and ideas that may otherwise be forgotten. It is a wonderful form of expression that can be shared with those you love. My parents, Mark and Brenda, have always encouraged me to be my own person. When you believe in yourself, anything is possible. My little brother Garrett aspires to become a famous bassist. His determination is an inspiration to all of us who let our childhood dreams go by the wayside, jaded by an adult perspective on life. "Open Your Eyes" is a tribute to my brother and for all of us who become used to routine and comfort, forgetting to ask ourselves if we are happy along the way. If we could all remember that dreams do come true, if we would just open our eyes, and believe in ourselves.
