I've been saying it for decades now, since the 1980's when Christian evangelical fundamentalists, under the presumptuous pretext of being the "Moral Majority," abetted by my onetime General-Electric hero of capitalism, free enterprise and the American way, Ronald Reagan, began to dominate the Republican Party and assume the mantle of conservatism.  
Who could have imagined that it would all come down to George W. Bush?
