A Cat that flosses?

Okay, I have a good one for you. My cat, Patches, likes to have her teeth flossed. Well, sort of. After I floss my teeth at night, I hold the strand of floss from the middle where it's been in my mouth and she likes to grab the ends of the strand and gather them in her mouth and then I pull them... LOLITA, LOLITA

Okay, I know I said I'd tell you about Mac and my cat but right now I have to tell you about a Parrot named Lolita that spoke both English and Spanish and sang to the radio. Lolita was the most unusual bird I've ever known. Her owner had trained her to go to the bathroom on command and, instead of... Sign in to see full entry.

A BIRD NAMED MAC FOR SHORT

When I was in college, I was able to get a Cockateil from a breeder in south central Texas. He was so tiny when I got him and the breeder said that if he didn't start eating within a day or so to bring him back. Well, Mac started eating on the way home in the car and ate consistently from that time... Sign in to see full entry.

CINNAMON'S FUNNY LITTLE QUIRKS

One of my youngest cats is named Cinnamon. I named her that because she is a tortoise-shell colored Calico with a half black, half orange face and black specks on the orange side and white under her chin all the way down under her tummy. She has white paws and green eyes and she was born just after... Sign in to see full entry.

A FEW CATS IN NEED OF HOMES

I told you guys about the kennel where my cats are right now and about some cats that have been abandoned. If any of you live in the Los Angeles area and might be interested in taking in a cat or two, please e-mail me. Most of the cats are very sweet and love to be loved. The challenge for a couple... NEWS ABOUT THE ANIMALS LEFT BEHIND BECAUSE OF KATRINA

Just in case you haven't heard, there are numerous efforts to rescue the animals left behind because of Katrina. I can't bring myself to think about those they may not reach but the wonderful thing is that there are many animals that are being rescued and taken to safety. I can't help but be so... HOW CAN PEOPLE BE SO CRUEL?

Right now, nine of my cats are in a kennel until I find a place to live. While they've been there, I've become attached to several of the cats there that have been abandoned by people or rescued from traps or abusive idiots. One little white kitten had her tail cut off and now only has a small stub... Sign in to see full entry.

UPDATE: ANIMAL RESCUE IN NEW ORLEANS

Since I posted the notice about the animals being abandoned, I've contacted the Humane Society and found out that there are several rescue organizations already on the job to rescue animals that people were either forced to leave behind or that survived the hurricane only to be left alone. I just... Sign in to see full entry.

ALERT: ANIMALS BEING ABANDONED IN NEW ORLEANS

If anyone knows of anyone with a van who can get to the New Orleans area to rescue the animals that the survivors of Katrina are being forced to abandon, please let me know. Evidently, the buses won't allow anyone to take their animals with them and animals are being left to fend for themselves. If... Sign in to see full entry.

PEANUTS AND CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM

When I was growing up, we had a dog named Peanuts. He was part poodle, part Chihuahua and part miniature sheep dog. An interesting combination rolled into a very cute pup! He was a very spoiled little dog travelling with us by private plane and staying in four star hotels. And, like most dogs,... Sign in to see full entry.
