A Modern Psalm

A Modern Psalm Oh, sing to Our God, a new song; Sing of the Unity of God's Love. Sing of Our Oneness, despite appearances. Your Love blesses the Just and unjust alike. Like the workers hired early, we complain, "Not fair!" Oh, Holy God, Forgive our self-centered judgments. 'Raise us above the differences and distinctions which divide us. There is no 'other'. New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve This is my 73d New Year's Eve. I will spend it at home with a friend. Chances are we will be asleep before midnight. This year promises more political chaos, continued moral degradation, likely financial crises, and little hope for the common folk. I cannot help but ask, "What's to celebrate?"
