Two Cities

As I think I've mentioned, my wife was a traveling nurse and we spent 90 days to 270 in a place and then moved on. Here is a pair of photos of two places. The first is of a bird that always fascinated me with his antics. He would be out hunting frogs or minnows along the shore of the pond that was... Sign in to see full entry.

Red Flower

I was never sure what kind of flower this was, but it intrigued me. The inner design of the center caught my attention and was almost spellbinding to me. The odd thing was that it was the only flower/plant like it in the area and I never found another one. Anyone know what this is? Sign in to see full entry.

South Manistique Lake

A bit of a stroll down memory lane here. My wife always loved the view here of South Manistique Lake and I can't tell you that it didn't hurt my eyes to be there either. This trip there was one of our last and God must have known that as He gave us such a beautiful evening. It was about 78 at that... Sign in to see full entry.

I found a photo of a place I loved to hang around in PSL (Port St. Lucie, Florida) It was a very secluded path and swamp in the middle of a very populated area and was a center of wildlife. It was not unusual to see some smaller gators in this area, trying to hide from their bigger brothers. The... Sign in to see full entry.

Swim - Or Not

I loved the Atlantic ocean over by Port St. Lucie Florida and have thousands of photos taken there. I'll change up tomorrow and get you some flower pics for a few days! I also loved the Gulf side, but the sheer power of some of the waves coming in amazed me. When we were in California, I took some... Sign in to see full entry.

Another Twofer

A couple of photos today, one just for TAPS. The first is a view of some of the caves in the Pictured Rocks taken from the beach level right on the shore of Lake Superior near Munising Michigan. Getting there was no easy hike as it wasn't really a path the state wants you to use, but it isn't... Sign in to see full entry.

The Road Less Traveled

This was early this fall as I was out walking down a back road about three miles from my house. I had run across a trail that had veered across the road and I decided to 'take the road less traveled.' I came around a small bend and then I found this view. I took about fifty shots and for now, this... Sign in to see full entry.

Shark Tales and Giggles

This is a photo of the Atlantic Ocean that I took on Jensen Beach State Park near Port St. Lucie in Florida back in the spring of 2008. This is looking north on the island toward the big expensive housing. The fog was still lifting off the beach, giving it a odd look. To get to this beach area, you... Sign in to see full entry.

Moon Light Over Escanaba

I can't remember just when I took this photo, but it was this summer when the fireflies were all over the place. I was walking back to my car and turned around and saw the moon suddenly big and bright. I opened up the aperture just a bit to get more light and snapped it. I love a good moon photo!... Snowy Barn at Sunrise

Someone (TAPS I think) mentioned about I either was a good photographer or I had a good camera. I've had a camera since 1963 and have taken millions of photos since. As a race track photographer, I would take about 4500 photos a night. Figure about 24 races a year and for at least seven years, I was... Sign in to see full entry.
