The Road Less Traveled

This was early this fall as I was out walking down a back road about three miles from my house. I had run across a trail that had veered across the road and I decided to 'take the road less traveled.' I came around a small bend and then I found this view. I took about fifty shots and for now, this... Sign in to see full entry.

Shark Tales and Giggles

This is a photo of the Atlantic Ocean that I took on Jensen Beach State Park near Port St. Lucie in Florida back in the spring of 2008. This is looking north on the island toward the big expensive housing. The fog was still lifting off the beach, giving it a odd look. To get to this beach area, you... Sign in to see full entry.

Moon Light Over Escanaba

I can't remember just when I took this photo, but it was this summer when the fireflies were all over the place. I was walking back to my car and turned around and saw the moon suddenly big and bright. I opened up the aperture just a bit to get more light and snapped it. I love a good moon photo!... Snowy Barn at Sunrise

Someone (TAPS I think) mentioned about I either was a good photographer or I had a good camera. I've had a camera since 1963 and have taken millions of photos since. As a race track photographer, I would take about 4500 photos a night. Figure about 24 races a year and for at least seven years, I was... Sign in to see full entry.

A Misty Fall Lake

This fall, I went out one early morning to a lake not far from my home in the Seney Wildlife Refuge. It was about to be another beautiful Michigan morning in "God's Country" of the Upper Peninsula. It was about 65 degrees at about 8:30 in the morning. The water was much cooler, giving rise to a... Sign in to see full entry.

Ring Neck Pheasant

I ran across this young male Ring Neck Pheasant late last spring. He clearly was 'feeling his oats' as my Father used to say. He was talking to a group of hens that I originally intended to photograph. He obviously wasn't too worried about me and I was only about twenty feet away! Sign in to see full entry.

Just Waving!

This photo was taken over on the breakwater near Whitefish Bay, not far from where the Edmund Fitzgerald went down. Some days the breakwater is open to the public and somedays, it isn't. You can clearly see why! Sign in to see full entry.

Gone To Seed

I got a nice 'close up' lens a few years back and almost immediately, I found a number of small flowers that had gone to seed. I played with the lens for a bit before getting this shot. This flower was about the size of an American five cent piece to give you an idea of its size. I like taking the... Sign in to see full entry.

Mushroom On A Forest Floor

This photo was taken near Port Saint Lucie Florida back in the fall of 2007. Hardwood forests are rare in Florida and I was quite happy to find this one. It hadn't been trimmed or even seen much foot traffic in a long time, leaving it very dense. I think if I had come by a few minutes earlier or a... Sign in to see full entry.

I Told Ya It Was Cold!

This is what the below zero temps have done to the Munising Falls in Munising, Michigan. I'll have to do some resizing so I can just paste them here. In the mean time, use the link! Sign in to see full entry.
