Wonder Moose _Makes Ya Wonder What He Was Doing There!

Since I have so many photos to share, I may start posting one in the morning and one later in the day. Now the quality of this photo isn't the best, but I was so surprised to even see this event, I didn't have my trusty Nikon out. I was actually talking on my cell when I see this young moose come... Blue Lake At Sunset

I had visited Blue Lake, a fairly large lake (roughly 31 acres) over in Alger County (about 75 miles to the west of me in Newberry) in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest several times before finally getting there as twilight was setting in. I have not enhanced this photo at all. The humidity... Sign in to see full entry.

Manabezho Falls

I went over near the Porcupine Mountains in the west end of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and caught this shot of the Manabezho Falls. Wikipedia says this about the falls: Manabezho Falls is a waterfall on the Presque Isle River and is located in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in... Sign in to see full entry.

It was about 93 here today, so we took the dogs out to swim. They love the water! Sign in to see full entry.

Sandhill Crane on the Fly!

If you are familiar with Sandhill Cranes, you know that you usually will see them walking about, looking for something to eat. Very occasionally, you'll be lucky enough to see them fly. I got lucky yesterday and caught this big boy flying over the lake I was wandering near. Sign in to see full entry.

Daisy, Daisy, Give Me your Answer Do

With so much nonsense looming ahead of me, I had to get away for a while. Flowers have always been a favorite target, and tonight was no different. I was walking along, and this daisy insisted I take its picture. Of course, it wanted some 3x5's and a couple 8x10's, but I told it that would take a... Sign in to see full entry.

It's possible I've posed this before, but if I have, it would still be worth the second look. I found this in an early morning light. The flower was struggling to shake its morning dew to get into the morning sun. Sign in to see full entry.

A Painted Sky At Last Light

Finding it hard to concentrate on writing, I've spent the last few days out taking photos. The mosquitoes were out by the millions, but since I take a lot of Vitamin B Complex, they didn't bother me... much. I call this one, "Last Light." This photo was taken a couple of minutes later from about one... Sign in to see full entry.

Wandering the northern forest, you'll find a lot of places that 'collect' water. Sometimes they smell horrid, depending on how long the water has been trapped there and if it has an entrance and egress to allow it to freshen. I fouind this neat little place where there is the smallest of a stream... Sign in to see full entry.
