Dark And Beautiful!

I like to play with lenses on my cameras and this photo was one I was playing with to see what I could do to make it a bit 'spookier' and then use it on a book cover shot for an upcoming collection of short stories. It actually wasn't dark yet, but the sun was definitely on the down swing. I stacked... Sign in to see full entry.

An Article With Photos and Words You May Not Want To See.

This post is not for the weak of heart. I express thoughts and photos of things some may not want to read or see. Beware. I was up late last night for a ton of various reasons, but I wanted to see a movie that didn't start for another ten minutes, so while I was waiting, I went clicking around and... I have something different planned for later, centering around a famous event and some photos I took. I'm working on the story. Stay tuned. Sign in to see full entry.

A Stunning Photo, Even If I Say So Myself!

We'll start with a photo of a particular part of the ride west on US 2 coming out of St. Ignace (the city on the north end of the Mackinaw Bridge). This is over by the small town of Brevort and I'm not quite sure why this happened geographically. Most of the area along that part of US 2 is remnants... Sign in to see full entry.

Oh The Places You'll Go!

All summer times pics today. We got too much snow to post any more winter pics! I post this photo for someone who mentioned they like wandering road photos. As are most all of my photos lately, this was taken in the UP near Munising, Michigan. We were going to see Miners Falls, a beautiful set of... Sign in to see full entry.

Summer in the Porkies and Winter Near Whitefish Bay

This is the Ontonagon River in the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park in Ontonagon, Michigan on the down side of the western edge of the Keweenaw Peninsula. This river is magnificent and makes a magical noise as it flows to empty into Lake Superior. I love it! The Porcupine Mountains are... Sign in to see full entry.

Just A Song Before I Go, A Lesson To Be Learned

While I will post some photos here soon, I was asked what kind of photo equipment I use. I have three different Canon digital cameras, but my favorite is my Nikon D5100. It is at lest ten years old and I have taken nearly a million photos with it and I have the stored SD cards to prove it! When you... Sign in to see full entry.

More Summer - Winter Photos

Michigan has more Lighthouses than any other state in the union, and an incredible number of them are in the Upper Peninsula, This one is over by Copper Harbor. While I have hundreds of thousands of day time photos, I love the early morning or late evening photos the best. This is on the east side... Sign in to see full entry.

You Can't Go Home Again

These are not my photos, but they came from an old timers photo bin that gave them to me. He took them and gave them to me before he passed away in 1972. These were taken in the late 1930's and early 1940's. I had them turned into digital pics so that they didn't go the way of the buildings. If you... Sign in to see full entry.

Deer Eagle, I Love You!

I've always talked about the wildlife around here. Both of these photos were taken within a mile of my home. This first one was a big doe whitetail deer I surprised as I walked along a lake (which you just make out in the background if you look just over her head and her tail.) While these animals...
