"...and one more other thing...!"

The day is grey and breezy and cold again, after a bud-killing low of 19F last night. Sunlight is trying to burn through the overcast, but according to the forecast, winter has a bit more snow to hurl at us here in Colorado. Yesterday afternoon Charlie and I went to see a couple of our theater friends in their closing show--The Making of a Great Moment. (by Peter Simm Nachtrieb) It was a fun little romp which is so lively and odd it defies description, so I can only recommend it to you, if you... Sign in to see full entry.

Friday again already

This morning started a little later than usual because of a dream that I wanted to continue to see where it was going, which I entirely forgot upon waking. I only remember it had a blue/yellow theme which, when I woke, reminded me of Ukraine's colors. First activity of the day was to dust certain shelves in the 'dining room.' The table was still half-bare because Charlie and I sat there doing bookkeeping for the workshop a couple of days ago, and so there was plenty of space near the shelves to... The 15 inches of snow that started a week ago is nearly gone now. We expect mid-60s temps today, and a few clouds. Last night, Charlie and I went to see the local production of CATS. I know it isn't everyone's favorite musical, especially if one was raised on the Lerner & Lowe classics of the 50s and 60s, and has never made the leap into Andrew Lloyd Webber's style. But I have loved it since first seeing it some 35 years ago when I was privileged to see one of the best of the original... Sign in to see full entry.

Snowfall!

It has been snowing pretty constantly since Wednesday night, and now, at 9am on Friday, it's forecast to taper off around noon. Meanwhile... https://flic.kr/ps/rhS1C That's how it looked last night and this morning and around noon I'll add a few more shots. The big lilac bushes in the back yard are bowed down to the ground, and I'm hoping that neither they nor the other snow-laden trees will break limbs under the weight. It's a wet snow, the temps have been low 30s mostly, so it's the heavy... Sign in to see full entry.

Snow changes all the plans

It started in the wee hours, the snow, now it's at least 6 inches on the back porch rail and still coming down with determination. So my grandkid's appt at the dentist is cancelled for today, and the show Charlie and I planned to see tonight is postponed until next Wednesday. When I was a teenager in New Jersey, snow came through the winter, one layer piling onto the next. Deep snows were not unusual several times in a season. I remember how beautiful it was coming down at night, caught in the... Sign in to see full entry.

"...And another thing...!"

And here come Winter back again to deliver one more zinger! It's raining already, and will turn to snow They say later this evening, and continue through Friday morning. Denver is expecting as much as a couple of feet. Here in the Springs, near 12 inches. Glad for the new all-weather tires on the car, and good brakes. A nasty pot-hole raised that repair bill by $500, fixing a strut that was totalled. Charlie has been cleaning up the workshop to host some folks who want to make their own boffers... Monday Monday

Sitting here with a big cup of tea, touring Britain via a show that connects landscape to literature. The day outside is nondescript so far, though it's likely to be nice later, fair with mid-60s F. The Feisty Grannies were two yesterday. My friend Joanne stayed home as some people in the show she's currently rehearsing have covid. Meri arrived right at clock-1pm. I wasn't sure people would be on top of the clock-shift, so I was there at clock-noon. Wouldn't you know, I left home the J-hook... Sign in to see full entry.

Feisty Grannies Sunday

The sun is shining through the front window at the workshop, so the parlor is warm as the day creeps up on 60F. Nice as it is, I am likely the only Feisty Granny here today. Joanne was exposed to covid from various cast members in the show she's currently in rehearsal for, and I have not heard from anyone else. No problem, I have my project to work on, and a cup of tea brewing. Last night I discovered it is possible to tear out 15 hours of work in an hour. I kept hoping, kept working on it, but... Busy Tuesday

This week something is going on every day. Monday was about getting some blood tests done, then a trip down to the workshop. Today I sorted out some financial stuff, then Charlie and I dropped our primary ballots in the box, and was in the neighborhood, so went to the yarn shop to pick up some more colors for the current project. Naturally, I also picked up some for the next project. I've made enough hats and scarves over the past few months, and now I'm focusing on bigger items. It began with... Sign in to see full entry.

Sunny but chilly today, and maybe rain or snow later... I've spent some time this morning catching up with reading my friends' posts here. Usually I make a comment, but not always. But I do read you, to find out what's up in your world and to share some of the pennies I pay into Blogit. The truck has a functional battery now, and we drove some stuff down to the workshop yesterday. After driving the car for several weeks now, the truck was, to use a term I heard from an aviator describing flying... Sign in to see full entry.
