I live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with my husband Lee, our son, Eli, our Anatolian Shepherd/Chocolate Lab, Sampson and our cats, Maggie and GreenBean. I've been an avid reader/writer since childhood. I grew up in the Old Order Mennonite (horse and buggy) church, but left the congregation as a young adult. Most people associate the Mennonites with the Amish and without knowing all the ins and outs I can see why, but they are really quite different, they just use the same form of transportation. I plan to share more of my story in a book one day. I am now a journalist and the president and co-founder of a non-profit organization that supports local families who have experienced the death of a young child/children or pregnancy loss. You can learn more about that or read blogs specific to grief and loss at http://www.sadierosefoundation.org/ .
