Just like the Beatles hit, ”I was alone, I took ride, didn’t know what I would find there”

Got to get ME into my life...

I was confused, I had to get away, somewhere special, be alone and make some serious decisions, I needed to think...wrong...I needed to feel.

My friends laughed with disbelief when they heard where I was going. A rainforest in the middle of an Australian National Park! ALONE! With all those scary creepy crawlies! What protection are you taking?  Ha, don’t worry I’m doing it in style, I told them.  Not one for camping it (unless it’s a 5-star tent with hot & cold running chefs) and, as for my fear of spiders, well, I will just have to deal with that FEAR (false-evidence-appearing-real) before I get there, and I did, albeit with the help of a giant huntsman spider that paid me a visit one night.

I had never read poetry, never wanted to write poetry and yet I found myself writing, didn’t immediately recognise that it was poetry, when nature spoke it seemed more like disjointed phrases and riddles, some cool words to practise my calligraphy with.

“I was alone, I took a ride, didn’t know what I would find there” danced by the lake under the full moon and nature spoke directly to my heart. My poetry is the result of that journey.
