I'm a grumpy, grey haired sometime writer and social care manager in mental health, the latter is what keeps the wolf from howling at the door though often I hear him breathing right outside. I've had a few stories published and won a couple of prizes. However the last cheque I received bounced. What a prize! I also write a 3 weekly column for a social work magazine: Community Care.

I live with my partner, a photographer, and a very lively Chocolate Labrador called Dylan, after his Bobness, with mental health needs (sorry, Bob). I have two grown-up kids, a boy and girl, sorry, man and woman, from a previous marriage of a lifetime ago. At  least I did something right.

When I have time (usually not a problem, social care is good on annual leave if somewhat crap on pay) we escape to Asia, usually India, and sojourn and fossick for as long as it's healthy. We live in the UK in a town called Reading, which is great as it named after one of my favourite pastimes alongside writing, traveling and listening to dodgy prog. rock from the 1970s.
