I'm 38 years young. Born in Scotland, grew up in London. Still live in London, with a few knitted plants and 2 feather boas (one hot pink, one purple). I do have other things too, like plates and a bed, etc.
I work from home just now - writing and selling on Amazon.
I have a MySpace page here - always happy to meet new friends! *open invitation to drop by there and have a cup of tea*
I write poetry. I started trying to get published about 4 years ago. Since then I've had about 30 published, some in Forward Press anthologies, some online. One came 4th in the Forward Press 'Top 100 Poets of 2005.'
Some are published online, here and there's more stuff on poemhunter.com here.
I self-published a book of poetry at lulu.com last year - here (where it can be downloaded as an eBook or ordered as a paperback book) - 'I Am The Blast From Your Past & Other Poems', which I've just entered into a competition for first full length collections. I'm keeping my fingers crossed until the winner is announced (I'm not sure how I am able to type this).
The published ones that mean more to me than any other publication could are these three here on The National Association for People Abused in Childhood website.
I sell books and have a shop here on Amazon - books, CDs, tapes, videos and DVDs for sale at cheap prices!
One of my other personalities, Opheliablue, has had a LiveJournal for six years. If you have one too, feel free to add me/her so that we can bore you in two different places. If you're really unlucky, we might even add you back.
(that would be a picture of a Llama if there was one! I am a.k.a. The Llama Queen/Hag and fortunately/unfortunately - I can't decide - I own all Llamas. They just turned up on the doorstep one day and demanded to join me. What could I do?! It is a small flat but we get by
and I love them really
. I think they are quite fond of me
).
I can be nice, but I can also be a complete bitch. I'm not a very social person - apart from online. I'm Emily Dickinson with a laptop. I love my laptop so much that I had it surgically attached to me.
Main interest: Sylvia Plath. Some might call it my obsession - *I* call it my area of interest and research. I regularly post on the Sylvia Plath Forum. I was asked to speak about her at a Plath/Hughes evening in Yorkshire this year - totally unexpected! Couldn't go, though.
Other favourite poets: T.S. Eliot, Sharon Olds, Ted Hughes, Anne Sexton, Emily Dickinson, Benjamin Zephaniah, Dorianne Laux and Jeffrey McDaniel.
