I have made my living as a copywriter for more than 30 years. Quite frequently, this has amounted to what I refer to as "literary prostitution." And like a streetwalker, I can sell what I own and still sell it again.
I have been grateful to have a portable career and a salable commodity, which can also be said of the garden variety happy hooker. My work has ranged from editing books on topics as diverse as diesel engines and business ethics, to writing lyrics for religious songs. All points between have also been illuminated as I burned the midnight oil.
I'm a writer, no more and no less. It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
