Biography: Gail Frank

Gail Frank owns “Frankly Speaking,” a consulting company with three main focus areas: resume writing for the retail/individual market, development of career training workshops for corporations, and a strategic business writing and training company called A Hired Writer.com. Her clients are scattered from around the nation and find her at her website: http://www.callfranklyspeaking.com. She is also a Consultant and Trainer for top outplacement company Drake Beam Morin, Inc., where she primarily conducts workshops for individuals in career transition due to corporate restructurings.

 

Gail brings a wealth of information and credentials to careers business. A native Bostonian, she has a strong quantitative background with a degree in Economics from Harvard. She also lends a practiced eye to candidate’s positioning in the marketplace with her 10 years of extensive marketing background from top Fortune 500 corporations like Procter & Gamble and BIC Corporation.  She also developed expertise in Operations, having spent 3 years in Purchasing and Materials Management for Procter & Gamble.

 

In addition, she has undergone extensive training in the field of Adult Learning, earning a Masters degree (M.A.) in Adult Education from the University of South Florida. Through conducting workshops for outplacement leader Drake Beam Morin (DBM) and other corporate clients, she has taught hundreds of people how to write their resume, conduct an effective job search, and have a great interview that results in an acceptable job offer. Her workshop and training skills were further enhanced through becoming a certified instructor for top national management training company: Development Dimensions International (DDI).

 

As a member of two national resume-writing associations (PARW and NRWA), she has attended conferences, read books, and participated in on-line training about resume writing and career development. Through studying and a comprehensive testing process, she has earned the rare designation being doubly certified: a Nationally Certified Resume Writer (NCRW) and a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW)--a true expert!

 

More training and certifications resulted in her also earning two important industry credentials: 1) Job and Career Transition Coach (JCTC); and 2) Certified Employment Interview Professional (CEIP). She received the top award for "Marketing, Advertising and Business Development" at the 1999 Professional Resume Writer's National Convention. Gail has been continuously selected to attend Career Fairs for the Tampa Tribune and St. Petersburg Times to counsel individuals on how to improve their resumes. She also writes, edits and distributes an E-newsletter titled “Frank Talk on Careers.”

Gail is an active member of American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Career Masters’ Institute (CMI). A member of the Junior League of Tampa (JLT), she also has developed and administered volunteer training and tripled Silent Auction sales results for fundraising events for the nonprofit Centre for Women. She was chosen as the Centre's “Volunteer of the Year” in 1998. She was recognized as Junior League's "Active Member of the Month" in 2004 for her work in bringing pet therapy to the volunteer project at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital.
