My name is Leander Starr Jameson. I live in a tiny pueblo in the mountains of Aragon, which is exactly where I want to be, having tired of the human race and its continual stupidity. However, total escape is not often possible, and so I support myself by running a place called The Spanish Saloon in the small town of Albericoque, some twenty minutes drive from my pueblo. In truth it is my wife who does most of the running while I do the clearing up, and study the customers with ever increasing amazement. In former existences I have written drama for the BBC, been a boatman, a teacher, a smuggler, a failed salesman and a compulsive traveller.
