Despite the fact that I'm a writer, it's difficult to describe myself for one of these things. I'll take a stab at it and say that I'm a travel writer by passion, and a retail store manager by financial necessity. The good news is that I'm working to change the latter.

I'm twenty-eight and single (Yes, I know this is not a personal ad). I feel it necessary to explain my age and marital status because oftentimes, writing fills in where something else might be lacking. I just moved to Florida from Texas and although I spend much of my time traveling, I now know that there is simply no place like home.

I've been writing for as long as I can remember- although I lost my muse at one point in my life. Now that the muse has returned from an extended vacation, I'm throwing myself into my craft in the hopes that it might make my world a better place.

As luck would have it, I discovered not only one passion, but two: travel and writing. They make a great couple. I have the good fortune to be a contributing journalist for a web radio show and travel magazine (and have had some gigs with other online publications). I recently started building my resume with some PR work on the side for some other travel publications as well as writing business notes for a small local newspaper.

I dabble in fiction and chick-lit. As the saying goes "write what you know." I know reading and I am a woman, so I suppose in some ways that qualifies me for both. I am also an avid reader- all the more reason for me to choose a career in writing.

If you want to learn more, read on. I always wear my heart on my sleeve, so if you like your writing honest, that's precisely what you will get.
