I wrote a couple mediocre poems as a child, and only one in my 20s. So, I didn't do much until my late 30s when a major emotional crisis in my life drove me to become a recluse... at which point I began daily journaling as a way of dealing with my emotions and assisting the self-healing process. On reading entries from weeks & months before, I saw some potential “poetic material”. That’s when I really started writing poetry in earnest. Soon, I discovered I was getting so much satisfaction from writing that I couldn’t quit. By “1993” I had produced 95 poems which were self published in a book entitled "Star Dreams and Earth Rumblings" published by Pyramid Workers" ISBN 0-9626280-5-0 in Nevada City, CA. under the alias Jerry Michael Lynn. Only 50 copies were made (all I could afford at the time) but I sold half of them within a month to fans and gave the other half to friends and family. In those days, I also read them to captive audiences of musicians and art enthusiasts at “open mike” in that town. Writing and publishing the book somehow closed a major chapter in my life... and for a while I didn’t feel the “need” to write more than the occasional verse. Eventually, however, I picked it up again and, have written over 70 more poems, in a dozen years.  As a writer, I get the most inspired by extreme emotions, like falling in love... and falling hard... out of it againI’m also a decent sculptor, an excellent massage therapist, and enjoy a couple other art forms.

How and where I grew up, went to school, marriages and family, and what I do for a living are boring subjects for me, so they would probably be boring to you. I wish more of my creative talents were being expressed, but life just isn't that fair. Poetry, however is one gift I would never dare neglect, as communication, especially in this form, has always been very important to me… second only to the thoughts, attitudes, feelings, and sensations, expressed by language. So I am pleased to share this website with other writers, with whom I clearly have a lot in common. Thanks Blogit! this is a lot of fun...... maybe even addictive.
