I was born a bastard in 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. Thank the good Lord there was no Roe vs. Wade and the madness which permitted a woman to murder her child, legally! There was an orphanage which was operated by the good Sisters of Charity, and contrary to the popular notion fanned by such movies as "Annie," the nuns were good to all. They fed me all I wanted; clothed my in clean clothes and provided a warm clean bed in a dormitory for 60 other lads. In addition, they saw to my moral upbringing and provided a no-nonsense education which taught me the love of reading and writing. The one essential element which was missing, was that I was never told that I was loved! Imagine, after 14 years hearing those three words for the first time.
