The subject was brought up once about how Solomon asked God for wisdom, and the question was asked...what, of all gifts, would you ask God for.  I always asked for Love, because a favorite thought and belief of mine has been that "Love is the greatest of all..."  At 44, having been divorced and given the second chance in life that many have felt blessed to have, I look back on a long and winding road, filled with the trials and challenges and pains of life that many of us attribute our present maturity, understanding of ourselves and others, and peace within ourselves to.  Moses had to wander 40 years in the desert to prepare him for what lied ahead, and the cliche that...Life begins at 40 makes me think that it takes that many years of wandering, of having patience and virtue worked into us by the heat and harsh winds of life that wear away the decorative garments the world has wrapped us in and exposes the cloak of a servant, that was woven without the finest of fancy and colorful threads, but with strands that are stronger than what wailing winds can destroy, by the hands of the Gold in the maker's heart of Love.   We all have our own story; by asking for Love I seemed to get alot of sadness and pain, but if I hadn't have, I wonder not only how much of God's love I would have noticed towards me, but also how much I might now notice sadness and pain in others, and how much Love I'd have to give if so much had not been given to me.  Funny to think, I asked for Love, and of all things I've seen in life, God's love is the greatest of all things I've seen and experienced.  He did answer, he gave me Love alright...his Love, and I suppose I had to have a need for it before I would ever look for it or "See" it, or feel it, or possess it.
