Okay - first the personal stuff: Divorced, 45, three daughters, two grandchildren.
I was born in California, but have lived in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and now Ohio for a number of decades. I started writing greeting cards when I was 16 and was hired by Gibson Greeting Cards right out of high school. I freelanced for a number of years while my two oldest daughters were small, then later went on to write for a number of newspapers--human interest and humor articles.
I went to work for Bridge-Logos Publishing in 1993 as an acquisitions editor, then later moved on to become a book editor.
In May, 2002, I moved to the country and joined the staff of The News Democrat as a contributing writer and took over as editor in October of that year. In January, 2003, we bought The Ripley Bee and I took the helm there.
And now I'm back to freelancing.
