"I am a storyteller." I can't tell you how good it felt to say that out loud. Not "I am a writer" (technically I may not be, anyhow. Haven't had anything published yet) but "I am a storyteller." This is because no matter in which time period you'd plunk me down in, I'd be a bard telling tall tales by the hearth (never mind the fact that I don't like speaking in front of audiences!), that crazy old witch muttering fairy tales on a lost corner at a busy marketplace, a shaman telling his/her tribe how the world was made, or a mother of two busy little boys scraping up enough free time to sit behind her computer and splatter her stories onto the screen.

This is a storyteller. Someone who gives his/her heart a voice. A wise woman once told me that an author writes for herself and not for others. This is true. If you can't feel the passion behind your words, then how can you expect others to? Be the artist that plunges her eager hands into the buttery paint and smears it onto the virgin canvas with relish (no mustard jokes, please). Be genuine in your joy, and whatever comes out will be appreciated by those that share the same vision. Or it may awaken those whose eyes were closed to the possibilities until they saw your work of art.

About me: I am a mother of two. I have brown hair and hazel eyes. I'm an American living in Holland who struggles with her diminished English now and then. I love mythology and really, really get steamed when someone tells me I'm going to Hell for not believing in God (After all, it's not religion that defines the quality of one's soul! It's one's actions, thoughts, words...) But above all...I'm a storyteller...just like many of you!!

Hopefully, one day my book will get published and inspire someone to stretch his/her mind and step beyond the boundaries that were set for him/her.
