Allow me to tell you about myself. I hail from a small nation at the bottom of the planet called New Zealand. I now, however, live in Japan - Osaka to be exact. The reason I came to Japan back in 1979 was to practice and study the martial art of Aikido - Shodokan Aikido. To this day I still practice the art and though I'm far being a professional, I love the sport.
I was always been interested in writing but never go off my ass to do anything about it until I visited my home country five years ago. During that vacation I was drinking with old friends in the same bar the five of us frequented back in the 70's. Over the course of the evening, I began telling amusing little anecdotes about my experiences adjusting to life in Japan. My friends were hanging on ever word as the stories were - if I do say so myself - amusing. At the end of the evening, one of my friends suggested I write down these stories and keep a journal of the various experiences I have had and the experiences I will have in the future. I took his advice to heart and upon returning to Japan, began writing a journal - which I still keep. I also decided to take my writing to the next level and began writing a novella. While surfing the Net for information for the story, I happened upon Blogit. I was instantly enthralled by the concept and decided to join - and here I am. My novella is now finished and I have been editing and will soon send it to a publisher.
