I grew up in Ireland in a large family 13 to be exact, 15 including my parents. As a child at school I hated having to get up and speak of family, for two reasons. One I was extremely shy and my voice and body trembled when my turn came to speak. The anticipitation was so great that my legs were doing a dance of their own by the time it was my turn to stand. Reason number two was that I came from the largest family around. I could not be outdone when it came to naming my brothers and sisters. However that was one accomplishment I was not proud of.

I lived in a small town, huge of course to my childhood eyes back then. It was the kinda town where not only names of everybody living there were known but there standing in the community was freely spoken of and respected or disrespected as the case may be. Needless to say our's was one much spoken about.

You see back then Country Folk were mostly those in need and frowned upon. The town as a whole was proud of it's folk mostly merchants or business men of some sort.  Our clann was just that all clann and still more on the way. We roamed the streets hungry for two things love and food. We never met up to the small town standards we were basically too poor, unkept, and dirty in their eyes, there were too many of us. In a town like this to be a "Townie" you came from a small family and your standing was rated according to the Store Front you owned it's size and how well it contributed to the community as a whole.

My father was an Insurance Agent and needed no store space to conduct his business. His space was his car and his front was his personality or his ability to sell.
