I won first place in a high school essay contest in NY---- big deal for an immigrant kid from Europe! The prize --- a Thesaurus.--- has been a valued possession ever since . My first writing to get published was a children's book, with others, while in high school.
After the Ph.D. in Social Sciences, my published writing consisted of research reports and technical articles in academic journals, some Op-Ed pieces.
Though I'm basically an American, my life and career have allowed me to live and work in dozens of countries from Western Europe, to the Indian Ocean, to Africa, to the Caribbean and Latin America. That's serving as a good source of material for my current writing ----- some biographical, some funny, some sad, some nostalgic.
