At 60 I decided I was old enough to let people know what I really think. Not ranting and raging but 'deep thoughts'. I've been a published poet in the U.S. and internationally for abour 40 years (50 if you include juvenalia).
My parents were Hungarians who had come to America in the early 20th Century to live in the Chicagoland area known as the Calumet region, an industrial zone in northwest Indiana. Here, as a steel-mill mechanic I began my life.
As almost everyone my age, I served in the military; then roamed afoot from London to the Khyber Pass - a hippy lifestyle. Upon returrning to America, I joined the Army during my college years in the American South.
In early 1991, I experienced a bad PDF - parachute landing. I became a chronic pain sufferer with some spinal damage leading to depression that increases tension so pain heigthens - a neat syndrome. The constant pain forced my early retirement.
