Description

The man is called Imam Idi Kasozi and although he is of Buganda ancestry,  he hails from Rukungiri, in western Uganda. He  is part of a quartet comprising incumbent Makindye West MP Hussein Kyanjo, Makerere University don, Dr. Abasi Kiyimba and Muhammad Kateregga. The foursome gained fame during their university days at Makerere in late 1980s and 1990s for their hard-hitting sermons in defence of religious and civil liberties.

Excerpt

“It’s only JEEMA which has boldly told Ugandans of what their country’s resources are capable of doing for them. In 1996 we told them the country could sustain free quality universal education. They let NRM grab the idea and it has messed up that concept. We can now promise that with our transparent and sincere management of the nation’s resources, we shall deliver welfare services to the country’s poor who cannot afford two health meals a day. This will increase purchasing power and spur the economy.”
