My Dying Arms Tonight

A boundless place for me to set the sun
within diamonds beyond your eyes.
Emeralds rush your tears where swans upon
a sea of gold stood as genius without a
name.

Every warrior without a face criticized the
sky with simply majesty. Upon a stem of
another rose with the strength of a thousand
Gods I thread the century like ancient pearls
without the height of wings.

I explain the air stirring in a pool of heaven’s
doves. To walk a hundred paths on my
bleeding feet upon a silver breeze. Hidden in
your whisper telling secrets to the wind,
sweet in your every breath.

Is there such a thing as day without your
nights?

How do mountains stand when hills sleep,
and the skies dream?

How does the sun empty every rainbow into
the ocean’s hand?

Does every brook carry a burning heart for
true love?

Good night my love these words which put
the shores to sleep sailing in the dark rowing
about the drowning waves in your dreams.
Navigating the stars within your eyes.

Could such beauty ever be denied?

Spying on your lips for that one last kiss, for
that wandering angel in your heart. I made
my vow to eternity, now together we own
the sky.

I gave distance to my wings for love, where
earth had seemed too far to seek but
heaven had come so near,

Where falling stars had closed their eyes
and made a wish on you.

The Firmaments of Heaven

It was light and darkness and he who called
the land and the seas for his maker, became
the third day. She was given to shine upon
this earth. The Lord dressed her lovely face
with beauty.

So rich through my heart Ethiopia is
honored that she is her fortune. Where every
votive candle burns for love within her eyes.
My lady of eternal providence, O’ how I
will set my place from the moon to the stars.
From hers to mine, between ours and the
heavens.

I will create islands out of a grain
of sand, divide countries and their people
and serve her the kingdom of Babylon
before our Father.

I will build a tabernacle in her name and
give my heart to the laboring lights of love
with palaces full. She is a sign from God, a
vision of the true comings of such sweet splendor
