We always shopped in Myers multi storied store when we went to Adelaide when I was a kid, and we would watch the Myers Christmas pageant ending with of course, Santa. We had to watch the parade from a Window in an uncle's office window that overlooked the street. Mother and Dad were not going to have their little girls catch Polio which was rife in the city. It was always as popular as the New York Macey's Parade over here and afterwards Myers would have a huge luncheon with singers and dancers{all  Adelaide children}who entertained the sick, orphaned, and deprived Adelaide children. it was broadcast so I could listen to it on the big wireless.
