Nursing, we were forbidden to accept tips. We were paid a good wage with free uniforms BUT if someone insisted they give me a gift I told them I could accept a bottle of Sherry!!!Actually I think it is terrible to tax tipping when it is virtually their wage and it is a difficult job on one's feet all day. We always pay cash and if it goes into their pocket, I didn't see a thing.

Back in the early 80s, I relied on tips from working as a waitress at the officers and enlisted club to make a decent income. Since I was a civilian working on a military base, my regular pay was higher than jobs off base. The tips came in handy for extras and emergencies. As for politicians, I am with you in that they are not to be trusted.

FSI.....
.....I don't remember ever being given a tip in my life. The jobs that I held were not the kind that people tipped one. On the other hand, I have tipped and lot of people, and always tipped well. I was taught to do that. My Dad always said, "The laborer is worthy of his hire" (from the Bible). I am for tipping not being taxed.
