Good afternoon
I have noticed the teller shortage too. It more than likely comes down to their lack of pay per hour, and banks are pushing customers to use the ATM if possible. Some of that has to do with AI taking the place of humans. Around here, the fast food and convenience store workers make more per hour than bank tellers, who start at $12.00 to $13.00 per hour and without benefits due to the positions being part-time. I know this to be a fact because my youngest daughter's best friend is a teller, and he makes less than her and she works at Panera Bread. Sheetz, GetGo, Burger King, Mcdonald's, Taco Bell, Arby's, and Wendy's have banners posted promising new employees a starting pay from $16.50 to $18.50 per hour plus benefits, depending on which shift and if they want to train as managers. The midnight shift gets a dollar more per hour.

Good Afternoon
FSI, I truly believe banks are hiring fewer bank tellers. They want everyone to bank online and I have to say there are times when people have to go to the bank. I think being short-staffed leads to long lines and people getting frustrated. It used to not be like this. There were always enough tellers but things are different now.
