Re: C_C_T, I don't have a bird table. That is a prep table. I hang my feeders.

I wish every one did that My sister stopped feeding as she saw three rats climbing on to her bird table.

C_C_T, I don't have a bird table. That is a prep table. I hang my feeders.

I can see how leaving feeders on a table for birds would be problematic since they are little germ carriers. I hang my feeders from my Japanese maple tree where they can eat, hide, and build nests. Regular smile

We usually have hummingbirds around here most of the summer. There is also, along the Mississippi River, a migration of Monarch butterflies in spring and fall. They seem such delicate creatures to be traveling such a long distance on wings that are nearly as light as air. Maybe that's the secret.

A good idea I am not a fan of bird-tables. I think it is why the bird flue spread so rapidly here and the rats climb up them at night.

I didn't realize they come through this early I must bring in my containers and clean them and get them with nectar. I make my own too.
